He/She is the first bell produced this year here at Neo.Reptiliac. We have replaced our old male (B.B.) with a new male. The new male was bred to Dixie this year and that's who this one's father is (likely, unless she had retained sperm). The new male is a male we kept from last year, produced by B.B. and Dixie. Today we had 2 lovely hatchlings come from the pair. It was the first babies ever from these two, and I must say I'm amazed with how pretty they are. First hatched a snow with an amazing pattern, gorgeous stripe and lots of boldness. Then secondly hatched what shocked me. I had no idea my bandit was het for anything, however its not that unrealistic since she came from Ron Tremper. Well just see for yourself. A week or so ago, Craig from The Urban Gecko sent us some African Fat-tail geckos. I was very pleased with the pair, they are just too cute. The male is Caramel Albino and the female a het Caramel Albino. We will be breeding these in the next season to come. I will keep most of the females in order to get my collection up. But I will still offer some for sale. Here is a photo of the pair. They wasn't due for another week so it was a pleasant surprise. They come from Hue and Dorthy (Raptor x Jungle Snow). If they are anything like the older sibling I got a few weeks ago from the same parents, then the black will turn lavender. Ive noticed something about these 3 babies from that pair that's pretty interesting thus far. On all 3 the end of the tail is blueish gray. It will be fun watching them grow.

Bell Albino eggs Hatched! =)

Ok so we have been waiting on our first pair of Bell albino eggs to hatch and yesterday they finally did after 41 days of incubation. They were incubated for males, with the hope of replacing my current breeding male, with one of these two that hatched. What I'm looking for is a nice Tangerine Bell to go with my female. Our male is bright but not really sporting the markings that I wanted in a mate for her. These two that was born yesterday look promising, not to mention they are HUGE babies. They are almost the same size as a 1 month old Leopard gecko. So I'm considering the possibility that they may be Giants. I spoke with Nevin Moyer, the friend who I got the parents from, and we cant figure out why these two babies would be so large since neither of the parents are large themselves. He has a line of "Liberty Bells" but the parents arent from that line I don't think, and even if they were, like Trempers, the parents must visibly be Giants in order to pass the Giant gene. So I don't know what to think about the large size of these two babies. I will keep everyone updated with growth rates as time passes.

Hypo (w/o carrot tail) x Super Snow eggs.

Today we got our first eggs ever from this pairing. The next set of eggs that is due to hatch, at the end of this month, is the first set we got from that pairing. It was an accidental pairing and Dixie has continued to make more eggs despite being separated from B.B. as expected this is not uncommon cause leopard geckos can retain enough sperm for up to 3 clutches. I was worried she might be too small but she seems to be doing very well and keeping her weight up. Mainly cause she is one of those females who will still eat while gravid. I'm glad she's that way, it means I can worry a little less about her.

Possible Giant Raptor?

One of the little girls I hatched around 2 months ago, is growing super fast. Helga is one of the 4 Super Hypo girls. I purposely bought mine with out the carrot tails. It wasn't easy finding some with out a carrot tail. I bred these two morphs together, with a certain morph in mind as the result. I wanted some very clean Hypo Snows. And eventually after breeding the offspring from all my females in this project together, I will produce a combination of the Super Snow, Patternless, Super Hypo traits in one gecko. Here's the parents of the pair of eggs I collected today.

Zig Zag Baby!

Today hatched a very cute little gecko, who's parents are Dorthy and Hue (Jungle snow x Raptor). But these were a gift from Nevin Moyer last year. He sent me a nice pair of his Bell Albinos along with a Gem snow het raptor after I did some graphics work for him. I really loved the pair so I kept them, now I got my first pair of eggs from the two he sent me. I was sort of surprised that they laid so soon. My female, Dixie surprised me with a pair of eggs tonight. Ok maybe I wasn't really all that surprised. About a week ago I noticed she had some egg follicles. So I took her away from B.B. (the male) and put her some where so she could rest in peace till she laid her eggs. I was sort of hoping she would reabsorb them if at all possible but she didn't, and tonight she laid us some very healthy looking eggs. Good job Dixie.

Hatchlings this morning!

Rosie and Hue did it again. I'm just now updating cause I had to remake my blog due to Wordpress errors. Don't ask me to explain, neither me or the people at customer support can figure out what the deal with it was. Anyways, Paul from Bright Albino sent me two new geckos on the 25th. Both females, one being a Tremper Tangelo (Hybino) Giant and the other, a Gem Snow Tremper Eclipse (Raptor with out red eyes).

New Blog

Ok I officially hate Wordpress. First the blog screwed up its self when I changed themes. Deleted all my previously entered posts. Then out of no where it screws up my website after supposedly getting it fixed the first time. And yahoo web hosting customer service sucks too. So I decided to use an external blog provider. And just link to it from my site.
